The IBJJF No Gi Absolute Grand Prix 2024 took place on February 29th, 2024 and the tournament featured 8 of the best grapplers on the planet battling it out for the $40,000 grand prize. The lineup was truly fantastic, including two reigning ADCC world champions and several IBJJF no gi world champions as well. Although the no gi absolute grand prix was the main attraction of the night, the promotion also put together a series of fantastic gi superfights featuring top colored belt prospects and elite black belt competitors. There was non-stop action from the colored belts who were eager to make a name for themselves on the big stage, and things progressed well throughout the night.
The most notable performances from the superfights came from Tainan Dalpra and Kade Ruotolo, both of whom won their matches in impressive fashion. Dalpra was flawless in his match and finished a rear-naked choke on Mauricio Oliveira in less than 3 minutes, while Ruotolo showed off his beautiful jiu-jitsu to beat Natan Chueng on points. The main man of the night was undoubtedly Kaynan Duarte though. He put on a tactical masterclass to beat 3 elite grapplers in one night without conceding any points, including a win over fellow ADCC world champion Giancarlo Bodoni in the final.
