Read moreKaynan Duarte is one of the top BJJ competitors of his generation after originally starting his grappling career with Judo and transitioning to Jiu-Jitsu. He was promoted to black belt in BJJ by ATOS founder and head coach Andre Galvao in 2018, immediately winning at the highest levels of the sport. He generated controversy in 2020 when it was revealed that he failed a PEDs test and was stripped of his first IBJJF title. He served his suspension and returned to competition, subsequently winning multiple IBJJF world championship titles after this. Duarte has also won several ADCC world championships throughout his career, and won major superfights against other top competitors.
