The full lineup for the elite team of grapplers representing Midwest Finishers at the upcoming cross-promotional team grappling event on January 27th, 2024 has just been announced. This is actually the final of the four teams to be confirmed and each one will be representing one of the top grappling promotions in North America. Given the competitors that have been announced, the event looks like it’s going to be action-packed from start to finish. With the other teams representing Enigma Jiu-Jitsu, Finishers Sub-Only, and Sapateiro; there is set to be a lot of friendly rivalry as the promotions battle it out for bragging rights.
The Enigma Jiu-Jitsu team was the first to be announced and with such talented grapplers representing them, they initially seemed like they would be favorites. Things looked far less clear when the Finishers Sub-Only team was confirmed though, as they also managed to bring together a stacked lineup. Although these two teams were still going to be tough to beat, the Sapateiro team was revealed and it consisted of just as many top competitors. Now with the final team lineup announced, Midwest Finishers clearly have just as much of a chance of taking home the title as all three of their rivals.
Leading the team is one of the top brown belt competitors on the Australian scene, David Stoilescu, and he’ll be eager to add some big names to his resume. He is joined by Chris Wojcik, a fellow medalist from this recent cycle of ADCC Trials who is going to be a very difficult match for anyone. Undoubtedly the most accomplished man in the lineup for Midwest Finishers is Paul Ardila though, a four-time ADCC Trials winner. He’s bringing his brother Sergio Ardila to join the team and the final member of the lineup is going to be the star of the recent Midwest Finishers 3 v 3 team grappling event, Ernesto Rivera.
