Finishers Sub-Only have now confirmed the full lineup of 5 elite competitors who will be representing them in a cross-promotional team grappling tournament on January 27th, 2024. The event will feature a team from four major North American grappling promotions, each one consisting of athletes who have previously competed on their stages. This is actually the second full team to be confirmed, as Enigma Jiu-Jitsu announced the 5 grapplers representing them first, and there are still two more to be finished off. The final two teams that have yet to be fully confirmed will be representing Sapateiro and Midwest Finishers.
The Finishers Sub-Only team consists of some very talented grapplers and they will be led by ADCC veteran and B-Team Jiu-Jitsu co-founder Ethan Crelinsten. He’s not alone either, as Crelinsten is also bringing one of his teammates to represent Finishers Sub-Only alongside him. That man is fellow top Canadian competitor Kieran Kichuk, who will actually almost certainly be one of the smaller grapplers competing in the tournament. The final three grapplers are all coming from different teams, but each of them have a ton of experience competing at a high level.
Buggy choke master Rene Sousa has been representing 10th Planet at Finishers Sub-Only events since the very earliest days of the promotion and now he joins Crelinsten and Kichuk to support the promotion that gave him those early opportunities to compete. Alongside him is Crazy 88 instructor Sergio Vilas and the head coach of Bergen County Jiu-Jitsu, Sean Yadimarco. Both of these men have been permanent fixtures on the competition scene in recent years and are more than capable of beating some of the more well-known names representing the other teams.
