Twisted Church, Sapateiro, Enigma Jiu-Jitsu, and Finishers Sub-Only are four of the biggest grappling promotions in North America and they’ve decided to work together to arrange an event using the Quintet format for January 27th, 2024. Each of these four promotions regularly stage exciting events with high-level BJJ competitors and this latest event really does break new ground in the world of professional grappling. The event will see each promotion put together a team of five competitors who have appeared for them in the past, ready to battle it out in a team grappling tournament.
The event will follow the traditional Quintet format, where the teams will compete in knockout tournament and the winning team will take home the grand prize of $15,000. As each team will be made up of 5 competitors, this means that each of the winning team members can expect to make $3,000 in prize money. Along with the Quintet tournament, there will also be a number of superfights booked for the event that will no doubt deliver plenty of action as well.
There’s no news yet on who will be representing each of the four promotions, but some of the best grapplers on the planet have competed for each of them in the past. ADCC veterans like Ethan Crelinsten, PJ Barch, and Luke Griffith have all stepped on the mats for the various promotions over the years and would be fantastic additions to the respective teams. Anybody looking to compete in the upcoming ADCC Trials event in 2024 will probably be looking to get some competition practice in beforehand and this event is scheduled for the ideal time to fill that need as well.
