Evolve Ur Game is wasting no time at all in establishing themselves as a major player among grappling promotions and have already started planning for their second tournament that will take place on June 12th. The promotion made their debut just a matter of weeks ago when they put on an eight man tournament featuring some of the best black belts available competing for a $10,000 grand prize. Naturally, a prize like that was destined to attract some big names and the likes of Gianni Grippo, Kennedy Maciel, and Marcio Andre all showed up to take part.
In the end, it was actually the newest black belt among the field of competitors, ATOS’ Andy Murasaki, who would end up walking away with the grand prize in what was actually his first competitive appearance as a black belt. Now, the promotion will be staging a 170lbs tournament and the first two competitors have just been announced as Tainan Dalpra and Jonnatas Gracie.
Dalpra will actually serve in a similar position to Murasaki as one of the youngest competitors who will be one to watch and may actually defeat the more experienced grapplers in the field as he was only just promoted to black belt on the podium of the IBJJF Pan-Ams last year. Gracie meanwhile is no relation to BJJ’s most famous family and is actually a black belt under Andre Galvao who has already won the IBJJF European Open despite only being in his early 20s.
