Evolve Ur Game, or EUG Promotions, has only just decided to get into the BJJ promotional game and they’ve started off incredibly strong by announcing a phenomenal lineup for an eight-man tournament on their official Instagram account. Not just this, but their first event will also feature a woman’s superfight between GF Team’s Thamires Aquino and the first ever black belt to come from Art of Jiu-Jitsu’s children’s program, Jessa Khan.
The CEO for EUG Promotions just so happens to be none other than Hector Vasquez, an experienced black belt under the legendary Rubens “Cobrinha” Charles. Vasquez has already managed to secure the full list of competitors for the eight-man tournament and due to the fact that they’re willing to offer a grand prize of $10,000, they’ve managed to attract some fantastic grapplers. The first announcement they made was Khan’s teammate at AOJ, Johnatha Alves, who was quickly joined by the latest man to be awarded his black belt by ATOS founder Andre Galvao, Andy Murasaki.
The two elite grapplers were quickly joined by Checkmat’s Matheus Gabriel and one of Marcelo Garcia’s most successful representatives, Gianni Grippo. One of the few men to manage to earn a victory over both of those athletes in recent years, Thiago Macedo, will also be competing against them. Another of Cobrinha’s black belts, Isaac Doederlein, will also be competing after a stellar performance at Fight 2 Win 163 that led to submission of the night honors. Marcio Andre represents one of the most experienced entrants along with Grippo, while Jamil Hill-Taylor will be one of the less-seasoned competitors although no less likely to come away with the grand prize.
