Medusa 4 took place on March 25th, 2023 and the promotion brought together twenty top female grapplers who fought tooth and nail to get the results they wanted. The event was first announced at the beginning of the year and it would be the first time that the all-female promotion had decided to stage on tournament instead of two like their previous events. That meant that the winning athlete would need to win four straight matches in one night in order to win the belt, and that’s exactly what Alex Enriquez did. It’s something that she’s used to by now though, as she defeated three tough opponents back at Finishers 18 to win their grand prix tournament too.

It took her just a little over eight minutes to submit her first two opponents before a tough semi-final match against the reigning Medusa EBI strawweight champion Fatima Kline. Kline had also submitted her first two opponents relatively quickly so both women were pretty fresh coming into the match, with it needing to go to EBI overtime for Enriquez to get the win. The rest of the lineup was equally stacked, and the other half of the bracket saw plenty of tough matches too. It was Kiaya Jackson who emerged victorious there, making it to her third consecutive tournament final on the Medusa mats. Unfortunately for Jackson, Enriquez proved too much and she walked away with the submission win at around the halfway mark of regulation time.
