Finishers 18 was a fantastic event that delivered exciting results from start to finish on January 15th, 2023. The event featured the return of Grace Gundrum after a year away from competition as she took part in the 125lbs grand prix alongside several other talented women. Grace Gundrum submitted all three of her opponents in her side of the bracket, but Alex Enriquez managed the exact same feat on her side too. The final match between the two women was a truly impressive display of Jiu-Jitsu on both sides, but Enriquez managed to emerge victorious in EBI overtime and take home the title.
That wasn’t the only title on the line though, as both Brittney Elkin and Trinity Pun locked up beautiful armbars in their matches to retain their respective titles at 170lbs and 145lbs. Teresa Calloway and Dylan Garafolo also won titles at the event, with each of them getting the win in EBI overtime. Then in the main event, Pat Shagholi had an incredibly tough title-defense against Steve Joachim that went all the way to EBI overtime before being decided by just a handful of seconds in ride-time.
