Leaked footage has recently emerged of UFC legend Nate Diaz sparring in his training camp for the upcoming boxing match he has booked against Jake Paul. It’s perhaps one of the strangest stories to emerge from the combat sports world in recent years, but the two have actually been circling one another for quite some time ahead of this. Despite their clashes in public, one of which included a brawl that Diaz got involved in backstage at Paul’s fight against fellow MMA legendAnderson Silva, it still didn’t seem likely at all.
Then at the beginning of this year, it was announced that a fight between Diaz and Paul had been booked for August 5th, 2023. Diaz has been a top MMA fighter for years and has registered more professional fights in the sport than most competitors will ever engage in, but he’s never actually had a professional boxing match before. Paul on the other hand has had several professional boxing matches and currently holds a 6-1 record in the sport, although the majority of these fights have been against fellow celebrities or aging MMA fighters. His only fight against an experienced boxer was also his sole loss, a split decision he dropped against Tommy Fury.
Because of the difference in the length of time both men have spent sparring and fighting, many fans were giving Nate Diaz the edge in his boxing debut. The feeling that he might have the advantage was bolstered recently when they agreed to extend their fight to 10 rounds, as Diaz is known for his phenomenal cardio. Now Nate Diaz fans have been given a better perspective on his chances in his first boxing match, as footage has been leaked of him sparring in his training camp. Although the footage was initially shared with the claim that his partner was professional boxer Esquiva Falcao, it has since been confirmed that it is not him and is actually another unnamed member of the team helping him prepare.
