Jake Paul and Nate Diaz have been circling each other for quite some time now and a boxing match between the pair has been rumoured, but now it’s been officially scheduled for August 5th, 2023. The fight will be a professional boxing match in Dallas, Texas and it will take place over eight rounds, with both men weighing in under 185lbs. It will be available to watch as PPV on DAZN and although there is no news on what bouts might feature on the undercard supporting it, it’s likely that they pull out all the stops to try and draw even more attention to the card.
According to the poster that’s been released, it appears as though the fight will be a co-promotional affair between Paul’s Most Valuable Promotions and Diaz’s brand new fight promotion company, Real Fight Inc. The pair have been jabbing at each other verbally for quite some time now and thinks came to a bit of a head at one of Paul’s most recent fights. Nate Diaz actually attended the Jake Paul v Anderson Silva boxing match and he was filmed getting into a physical altercation with several members of Paul’s team, before being escorted from the venue as a result of the behaviour.
Then the Jake Paul v Nate Diaz fight seemed to be inching closer to reality when Paul signed a contract with PFL in January, 2023, and quickly called out Diaz for a pair of matches under both boxing and MMA rules. It’s been relatively quiet since then, but it seems as though that’s because the two men have been getting together to try and come to terms on a deal. Paul’s older brother Logan recently said that he though Diaz was ducking him, although now it seems as though he’s just been busy putting this fight together first.
The news that Jake Paul and Nate Diaz were scheduled to fight against one another in a boxing match was first announced in a post to the official Instagram account of Ariel Helwani:
