The AIGA Champions League Brazil Qualifier 2024 will take place across May 23rd to 25th, 2024 and the full lineups for all 8 teams have now been announced. This is the second of four qualifying rounds that will take place around the world this year, and there’s a spot in the 2025 quarter-finals available for the winner of this edition. The competitors who win in Brazil will join Team Euro Trash, who were almost flawless in winning the Turkey Qualifier earlier in the year and became the first team to secure an invite to the next stage. Although anything is possible, it’s unlikely that anyone is able to put on as dominant a performance as them here as each team has some incredible competitors.
Several huge names have put together stacked teams to compete in the AIGA Champions League Brazil Qualifier 2024, including both Melqui Galvao and Demian Maia. There is a healthy mixture between ADCC veterans and elite IBJJF competitors spread across many of the teams, alongside a team of Luta Livre representatives to mix things up. Every team has at least one path to victory and there’s a ton of unpredictability in any team grappling tournament, but one team does stand out as the early favorite. With 11 grapplers who have all won major titles in the sport, the team representing Kasai probably have the best chance of winning the invite to the quarter-finals.
