Who’s Number One (WNO) 24 will take place on June 20th, 2024 and it will feature a pair of matches between some of the top competitors representing B-Team Jiu-Jitsu and Art of Jiu-Jitsu. Both teams are among the very best in the sport and these two matches are going to produce plenty of entertainment, demonstrating some excellent matchmaking by the promotion. There’s no bad blood between the two teams whatsoever too, so fans will get to enjoy the rivalry playing out on the mats without any animosity. They aren’t the only matches that have been confirmed for WNO 24 though, as the first two announcements were a pair of title-fights that will headline the event.
The first match to be announced features one of the top young prodigies to emerge in recent years, Cole Abate, and he will be facing off against veteran competitor Ethan Crelinsten. Although Crelinsten has the advantage in experience in general, both men have had plenty of matches against the best in the sport so that shouldn’t be much of a factor. They actually competed alongside one another in the under 66kg division at ADCC 2022, although they both went out in the opening round and didn’t meet on the mats.
The second match taking place between the two teams at WNO 24 will see one of the greatest gi competitors of his generation, Tainan Dalpra, testing himself once again in a no gi match. He will be facing Jacob Rodriguez, another young grappler who has also been making a name for himself in recent years. This has been for slightly different reasons though, as Rodriguez has become known for his fan-friendly style and incredibly entertaining matches whereas Dalpra is known for his flawless technique and utter dominance on the mats.
