Who’s Number One (WNO) have put together one of an incredible lineup in order to support the epic third match between Gordon Ryan and Felipe Pena that will be contested without a time limit and has $110k on the line for the winner. While Pena did manage to win both of their first encounters, Ryan has established himself as the greatest no gi grappler on the planet since then and the pair have repeatedly gone back and forth in social media and in interviews since. The match has been a very long time in the making and both men will be eager to settle the score, although they may yet have another fight later this year as they will both be competing in the over 99kg division at ADCC 2022.

The quality of the card supporting this grudge match becomes readily apparent when you consider that the very first fight at the bottom of the running order is a clash between ADCC South American trials winner Fabricio Andrey and Fabian Ramirez. Immediately after that, Estevan ‘The Giant Slayer’ Martinez will be returning to the WNO mats in order to take on yet another ADCC South American Trials winner in Diogo Reis. Two young stars will take to the mats in the very next fight as one of the B-Team’s youngest members and one of several ADCC trials winners from the gym, Nicky Rodriguez’s younger brother Jacob, will be facing Pedigo Submission Fighting prodigy Jacob ‘The Hillbilly Hammer’ Couch.

Following on from that is the only women’s match of the night, one that features two IBJJF world champions in Bia Mesquita and Elisabeth Clay. Next up will be another South American trials winner, the young Mica Galvao. He will no doubt be considered the favourite leading into a match against Tenth Planet veteran Alan Sanchez, although anything can happen on the night. The final match before the main event may actually be a preview of one we could see at ADCC 2022 as both men will be competing in the 99kg division. IBJJF gi phenom Nicholas Meregali will be facing off against American Jiu-Jitsu legend Rafael Lovato Jr in a match that is sure to deliver excitement just moments before Ryan and Pena take to the stage.
