Oliver Taza has just stepped in on short notice to replace Hunter Colvin in a match against Sebastian Rodriguez at the upcoming Who’s Number One 19 event on August 10th, 2023. The changeup has happened as a result of Colvin suffering an injury that forced him to withdraw from the match, and Taza was happy to step in just a few days before the event takes place. The main event is the epic fifth match in the series between Nicholas Meregali and Kaynan Duarte, but the rest of the lineup for the event is equally stacked.

The full lineup for WNO 19 features a pair of title-fights prior to the main event and several ADCC veterans competing against one another even before that. The card is so stacked with elite grapplers in fact that even the preliminary card has several matches that could quite easily serve as main events on smaller shows. That’s exactly why a battle between two top competitors like Oliver Taza and Sebastian Rodriguez is serving as one of the preliminary card matches for the event.

When we broke down the full lineup for the event and analysed each match, we picked Sebastian Rodriguez v Hunter Colvin as one of the most exciting matches. Replacing Colvin with Oliver Taza hasn’t diminished that at all, and it’s likely that this new matchup produces just as much excitement as the last. The only difference is that the previous pairing were pretty evenly-matched and either man could win, but Taza now stands out as the minor favorite here. That being said, Rodriguez still has plenty of ways to win and it’ll be interesting to see what happens when they meet on the mats.

FloGrappling announced the news that Oliver Taza was stepping in at the last minute to replace Hunter Colvin against Sebastian Rodriguez in a recent post to their official Instagram account:
