Dillon Danis has just managed to book the biggest event of his career, as he will now be facing Logan Paul in a cruiserweight boxing match on October 14th, 2023. The fight between the two men will be staged at the same event as an exhibition bout between another YouTube star, KSI, and professional boxer Tommy Fury. In an unusual move, these two matches are being billed as a ‘double main event’ with them being placed on equal footing. Both bouts are being contested in the cruiserweight division, with KSI v Fury going over 8 rounds and Danis v Paul going over 6 rounds.
There’s actually quite a lot of history between the four men competing at the event, particularly between KSI and Logan Paul. The two men have fought in both amateur and professional boxing matches, with the first being ruled a draw and the second ending in a decision win for KSI. Danis also has some background with KSI, as he was originally supposed to make his boxing debut against him back at the beginning of the year. Unfortunately for fans of both men, the match never actually came to fruition at all. Danis actually withdrew from the fight just a little over a week before it was due to take place.
The fight with KSI was originally supposed to be the beginning of a career resurgence for Danis, as he intended to take four or more fights in 2023. When that match fell through, it appeared as though any other plans he made also took a backseat. Dillon Danis still hasn’t managed to make it to a single fight under any combat sports ruleset in 2023 and this fight with Logan Paul will serve as his first competitive appearance since 2019. In fact Paul has actually been the more active of the two, having taken both an exhibition and a professional boxing match since the last time Danis fought.
The news that Dillon Danis and Logan Paul were going to meet in a boxing match was announced in a post to the official Instagram account of Misfits Boxing:
