The Combat Jiu-Jitsu Middleweight World Championship 2023 is scheduled for December 22nd, 2023 and the promotion has announced a fantastic lineup for the event. Several top competitors will be battling for the prestigious title and the eventual winner will have to make it through a gauntlet of tough matches. Ryan Aitken will be returning to defend the title he won in 2021 edition of the event and although he might be an early favorite, he isn’t the only one. There are several Combat Jiu-Jitsu veterans who are slated to compete in the tournament and it was clear that it wouldn’t be easy even when the tournament was first announced.
Roberto Jimenez is the promotion’s former welterweight world champion and he’s always an incredibly tough opponent at any weight. ADCC Trials winner William Tackett stands out as one of the other favorites to win the title, and there’s another young contender who might spring some surprises on his opponents. Calon Sabino is one of the most exciting talents to come out of ATOS in recent years and it’ll be interesting to see just how far he can go in a stacked bracket. As always there will also be some MMA fighters in the mix as well, most notably Javier Torres and UFC veteran Chris Dempsey.
Joe Kropschot is another one of the few competitors in the lineup for the Combat Jiu-Jitsu Middleweight World Championship 2023 who has experience in both MMA and grappling, along with tough veteran Bobby Emmons. Gabriel De Los Santos has also been announced for the event, and 10th Planet will be sending more than one competitor as Kyle Chambers will be representing them alongside Aitken. There’s always plenty of action at the Combat Jiu-Jitsu World Championships and with this many talented grapplers in one division, this edition will clearly be no exception.
