Third Coast Grappling has just recently finished the seventh in their series of Kumite events after being forced to adapt to the Coronavirus pandemic, and they’re now moving into the realm of open tournaments instead. The promotion will be hosting their first 3CG Fall Open and along with a chance for competitors to get some practice in ahead of bigger events like the ADCC trials, this will also offer them an opportunity to make it onto a Third Coast Grappling event of their choice in the future.

The tournament will feature standard weight-brackets for adults on 31st October and children or teenage competitors on 1st November. Alongside this however, will be four special absolute brackets which will have a nice prize up for grabs for the four competitors who manage to emerge victorious. Not only will each of them earn the chance to compete on an upcoming 3CG card, but they will also be awarded with a $500 prize for their efforts on the day.

The special brackets will be split evenly between men and women, with two brackets each. One male and one female bracket will be contested in the gi and open to anyone from blue to brown belt ranking, while the other male and female bracket will instead be no gi, and will be open to any ranking. As an added incentive, the finals of all divisions and the four absolute brackets will be streamed live on the promotion’s YouTube channel as well.

The Third Coast Grappling Fall Open will take place on October 31st for adults and November 1st for all other divisions. Click here to register for the upcoming event.
