Kayla Harrison has been the PFL golden goose who cannot be stopped for years now, and that train just kept on rolling at PFL 9 where she booked her place in the play-off final for the third consecutive time. She won the first million-dollar prize available in the women’s Lightweight division back in 2019 and moved to 7-0 in her already impressive professional MMA career. Since then she has taken a trip down to the Featherweight division at Invicta FC 43 and continued to dominate at her regular weightclass, leading all the way up to another million-dollar prize in the 2021 PFL season as well.
With that second big payday in the bank, Harrison improved her record to 12-0 and actually tested the waters of free agency for a little while. She had significant interest from Dana White and the UFC brass, but in the end she chose to stay where she has spent the majority of her career. Kayla Harrison then re-signed with PFL on a multi-year deal and went straight back to her winning ways immediately, beating both of her opponents in the regular season to book her place in the play-off semi-finals at PFL 9. There she was due to fight 6-2 professional Martina Jindrova and in the end she steamrolled her, finishing the fight with an arm-triangle choke just a little over three minutes into the first round.
