Fury Pro Grappling 8 is scheduled for December 30th, 2023 and the promotion has put together a fantastic lineup featuring a mixture of BJJ black belts and MMA stars. The main event is particularly exciting, as it will feature former UFC bantamweight world champion Aljamain Sterling as he continues his journey into the world of professional grappling. Sterling is no stranger to grappling of course, as he was actually a two-time NCAA Division 3 All-American during his time competing in wrestling. With his focus on MMA, he’s developed his submission skills to a very high level and has been able to put that on display in the cage over the years.
Sterling recently competed against fellow MMA veteran Mike Grundy at Polaris 25 and won the unanimous decision in an incredibly tough match. Now he’ll be looking to test himself on the mats once again, and this time he’s headlining a great lineup at Fury Pro Grappling 8 against Kevin Dantzler. Sterling isn’t the only UFC veteran competing either, as Kyle Daukaus and Chris Daukaus will be coming up against Alexandr Romanov and Eryk Anders respectively.
Niko Price will also be taking on Pat Sabatini, and Medusa veteran Fatima Kline has a match against Cindy Ung. There are other female grapplers booked for the event too, as Becca Burkhardt v Angelina Hernandez will be one of the first matches of the night and Elyse Shaw will be coming up against Amanda Mazza later on in the card. Lee Meringo v Charlie Campbell, Cameron Scalio v Paul Capaldo, and Matt Pontano v Kenny Cockerill are the final matches rounding out the card. If past Fury Pro Grappling shows are anything to go by then this should be a night of high-level grappling with plenty of action on the mats, and several exciting finishes.
The first 10 fights on the lineup for Fury Pro Grappling 8 was announced in a post to the promotion’s official Instagram account:
