Fight 2 Win 158 saw a clash between two of the best female grapplers around right now as Rafaela Guedes and Elisabeth Clay fought for the promotion’s Welterweight no gi title. The match was characterized by some solid guardwork from Clay and a couple of nasty slams from Guedes that kept her on her toes. There was a little controversy and confusion at the end of the match when Clay was initially declared the winner in error, although the F2W staff quickly cleared this up and declared Guedes the victor, and new Welterweight no gi Champion.
Before that was a co-main event between Matheus Luna and Fellipe Trovo that resulted in a tough and gritty contest between the two black belts, with Trovo earning a narrow decision victory. Samuel Nagai also had an impressive performance with a submission of the night award for his savage footlock finish of Mauricio Gomez. This win took him to an incredible record of 8-0 on the F2W stage after his last big win over Marcio Andre at F2W 156.
As a nice bonus, witness one of the crowning moments of the entire event that came much earlier in the night below. The very first purple belt match on the card saw Kenny Agosto defeat Hector Román-González by decision, but it wasn’t any successful transition or impressive submission attempt that we’re talking about here. Around halfway through the match, both competitors decided to an attempt an Imanari Roll at the exact same time and what resulted will now go down in history as a top quality BJJ meme:
