The results are in for the first ever edition of BJJ Woodstock and the competition itself went off without a hitch, although the live stream suffered from a few technical issues that left it without sound for the last few fights. Regardless, the event came courtesy of Sub Spectrum and although the opening matches featured a few less-experienced fighters, they still delivered non-stop action and plenty of finishes. These were then followed up by the 185lbs tournament featuring Andrew Wiltse, Aaron Harris, William Tackett, and Pierre-Olivier Leclerc.

The full live event can be watched below, so for those of you who’d rather watch than read the spoilers, scroll down now and enjoy the event!

None of the preliminary matches disappointed and one of the highlights was a lightning-quick inside heelhook by Matt Marchese right at the start. All told the match took less than a minute as he sat to guard and immediately started working his game, it was clear from the off that his opponent was at a disadvantage when fighting the leglock battle. At the top of the preliminary card was another exciting match between Jake Bower and Victor Borja. Although Bower started off slow to begin with, he soon picked up the pace and took Borja’s back before transitioning to an armbar attempt in the dying seconds of the match. There was only around 3 seconds left on the clock when Borja was forced to tap, making this the latest finish of the night.

The main attraction of the night was the 4-man tournament that delivered fast-paced and high-level BJJ from start to finish. William Tackett managed to finish off a perfect weekend for Brazilian Fight Factory’s competition team, after his younger brother Andrew and Kody Steele both got the victory at Fight 2 Win 150. Tackett finished his first match surprisingly fast by locking up a tight arm triangle against Aaron Harris, while his fellow finalist Andrew Wiltse was put through a gruelling match with Pierre-Olivier Leclerc. The difference in exertion in their first match was pretty wide and that no doubt would’ve played a part in how the final went, although Wiltse was very much in the fight all the way through. Tackett went on to finish his opponent with an outside heelhook and walk away with the 185lbs Championship belt.
