Who’s Number One 25 took place on December 4th, 2024 and the promotion put together an excellent card that produced plenty of exciting results for the fans. There were two titles on the line and an excellent main event after them, with all three matches featuring some of the best grapplers in the world. The night started with a fun preliminary card, the highlight of which was a slick ruotolotine from Isaac Cordova. He won his place at this event in a WNO Qualifier tournament earlier this year and he grabbed the opportunity with both hands, producing one of the only finishes of the night.
The main card started out with a few decision wins, but each of them came with some exciting moments. Then Felipe Pena heated things up again with another submission win, as he locked up a guillotine to finish top Australian competitor Declan Moody. That led straight into the first title-fight of the night, where the vacant women’s strawweight belt was up for grabs. Adele Fornarino didn’t disappoint, as she continued her incredible run in 2024 with yet another submission win. She actually secured the quickest finish of the night, submitting Sophia Cassella with an ankle lock in a little over three minutes.
Pedro Marinho put his light-heavyweight belt on the line against Izaak Michell in the next match, marking his third title-defense. It was a gruelling match that went the full distance, but in the end Marinho was able to come out on top and continue his reign as the longest-running WNO champion. The main event was a superb battle between Kaynan Duarte and Roberto Jimenez, with both men having their share of success at different points. The judges gave Duarte the nod and he immediately issued a challenge to Nicky Rodriguez in his post-match interview, before calling out Gordon Ryan and expressing doubts that he would actually turn up to their tentatively booked superfight at ADCC 2026.
