Alongside his brother Kade, he was quickly recognised as one of the sport’s top prospects at an incredibly young age. They both spent years of their youth developing under Rafael and Guilherme Mendes at Art of Jiu-Jitsu before eventually moving to ATOS as teenagers. Tye Ruotolo moved through the belt rankings quickly and was eventually promoted to black belt by ATOS head coach Andre Galvao. Ruotolo was defeating experienced adult competitors long before that point, and has only gone on to become even more impressive on the mats as he’s grown.
