Ryan Hall is still working hard to try and get his next fight booked and he’s now starting angling for a match against The Korean Zombie, Chan Sung Jung. He started out a few days ago by uploading an image of the Featherweight division’s best fighters to his official Instagram account and crossing off those that he now knows he won’t be fighting next. This left nine of the biggest names in the division that he was issuing an open challenge to, including former UFC Featherweight champion Max Holloway and title-contender Brian Ortega.
Of course, a fight with Ortega or Holloway was always going to be incredibly unlikely, especially after Ortega’s phenomenal performance against The Korean Zombie at UFC Fight Island 6. His Unanimous Decision victory in the match between top contenders was even more impressive given the fact that he was made to compete without his coach, Rener Gracie, in his corner after a positive Coronavirus test scuppered those plans. It made sense then, that Ryan Hall decided to specify the loser of that battle, The Korean Zombie, as his preferred opponent in the text of the post.
After a pretty positive fan reaction to the potential matchup, Hall decided to repeat his request but this time more focused on Chan Sung Jung in particular and doing away with the rest of the division. He also tagged the location as “Yas Island” indicating his wish to compete in one of the upcoming UFC Fight Island events. After he was unable to compete in the recent match against Ricardo Lamas and withdrew due to undisclosed reasons, he’s now not been able to fight since July 13th, 2019 and a match with Chan Sung Jung is certainly appealing.
