The official dates for ADCC 2024 have just been announced and that year’s edition of the ADCC world championship will take place on August 17th and 18th, 2024. Alongside this, the promotion has also confirmed that the superfight championship will see Gordon Ryan making his first title defense against Yuri Simoes. This was the match that everyone was expecting, as it follows the traditional conventions that the promotion has set out. Ryan won the superfight championship by beating Andre Galvao at ADCC 2022, while Simoes earned the right to challenge him for the title by winning the absolute division at the same event.
The venue has already been announced previously, and ADCC 2024 will clearly be even bigger and better than ever before as the promotion has booked out the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada. The new venue will allow for even more fans in attendance than ADCC 2022, where 10,000 spectators witnessed the biggest event in submission grappling history. Prior to the world championship taking place, there will also be a huge ADCC Open event and a kids version of ADCC 2024 as well. ADCC hasn’t just made improvements off the mats and before the main event either, as they’ve also decided to add a third weight class for female competitors.
Mo Jassim is directly responsible for large parts of the improvements that ADCC have managed to make in recent years and the development has been huge. He was brought back for the third consecutive edition of the ADCC world championship in 2024 and with the dates just a little under a year away, Jassim and his team are already working hard to put it all together. There are 8 editions of the ADCC Trials that will take place during the build-up for the world championship and alongside the 52 athletes that qualify there, the promotion also has to arrange for another 52 elite competitors to receive invites as well. It’s a huge task but Jassim and the team around him have already managed to achieve it twice in the past and ADCC 2024 should be yet another incredible event.
