Nate Diaz has reportedly been offered an astounding purse of $10 million to face Jake Paul in an MMA fight at an undisclosed PFL event in the future. The two men have been going back and forth on social media for quite some time and that animosity has even spilled over in to the real world from time to time. While most fans had their doubts that a fight would ever come to fruition, there were early signs that the two might actually end up meeting in a sanctioned fight. One of those early moments came when Paul signed a contract with PFL and Diaz was the first opponent that he called out.
After a decent amount of build-up and the two circling one another for a while, both men actually put pen to paper to commit to a fight. It turned out that they would be meeting in a boxing match on August 5th, 2023. Coincidentally, this is also the only combat sport that Paul actually has more competitive experience in than Diaz. They later agreed to extend the boxing match to 10 rounds, something that has been perceived as re-balancing the odds in Diaz’s favor thanks to his fantastic cardio. Despite the fight between Jake Paul and Nate Diaz being booked as a boxing match, many fans were left wondering whether the two would ever make good on the early promise of an MMA fight.
While both men are undoubtedly focusing on the boxing match at present, Paul has also been training in other aspects of MMA as well. While Jake Paul would have to learn whole new skillsets in order to be remotely proficient in an MMA fight, Nate Diaz is already incredibly proficient in the sport as a UFC veteran. In fact, Diaz has had to focus more on boxing in order to adapt to that new sport instead. Still, the idea of an MMA fight between the two men hasn’t entirely died yet and the offer is still on the table if Diaz wants to take it.
Jake Paul actually revealed that Nate Diaz had been offered $10 million for an MMA fight with him in a recent post to his official Twitter account:
For all the clowns saying “why don’t you fight Nate Diaz in the cage.” I made that offer to him from the start. $10M to fight me in PFL after we box on August 5th. Offer is still there Nathan. #PaulDiaz
