The Mother Of The Nation Jiu-Jitsu Cup 2023 took place on December 16th and 17th, 2023 and the UAEJJF managed to put together another fantastic event. The tournament is only available to female BJJ competitors and it produces some great results every year, regularly attracting some of the best grapplers around. This year was no exception either, as there were several big names competing in different adult weight classes. Perhaps the most notable competitor stepping on the mats at the event was Tayane Porfirio, who submitted all four of her opponents and stormed to victory in the under 95kg division.
Porfirio wasn’t the only elite BJJ black belt stepping on the mats and she wasn’t the only one to put on a flawless performance either. In fact both Julia Alves and Diana Teixeira managed to achieve the exact same feat as Porfirio, as they also left with gold medals after submitting four opponents in a row. Alves became the champion in the under 63kg division, while Teixeira won her gold medal at under 52kg. The only reason that Izadora Silva didn’t rack up the same number of submission wins is simply because she had a smaller bracket, as she finished all three of her opponents to win gold in the under 70kg division.
