Logan Paul recently decided to showcase some of his BJJ and wrestling skills during an open workout ahead of his upcoming boxing match. It might seem like a pretty unusual choice of activity to take part in under those circumstances, but it makes a lot more sense given that his opponent is Dillon Danis. Despite being a BJJ black belt with a pair of submission wins in MMA, Danis made the decision to accept a boxing match against Paul for October 14th, 2023. Things have got remarkably heated between the pair since then, and have undoubtedly progressed further than what most fans have come to expect from pre-fight trash talk.
Danis has been relentless in his attacks on both Paul and his fiancee Nina Agdal on social media, resulting in him being hit with a lawsuit. Not only does it seem as though it has had little effect on Danis, it’s only seemed to have spurred him on and the pair got into a physical altercation during pre-fight interviews. When the pair took part in open workouts in front of the media, Danis made the unusual decision to show off his grappling instead of actually allowing fans to see what he might look like in a boxing match.
It seems like Logan Paul then decided to follow suit, as he did a few flowing BJJ and wrestling drills to display his skills for the crowd as well. While he’s far from an elite grappler, Paul has claimed that his background in wrestling has helped him become proficient. While that was a long time ago, it’s not as if he’s left grappling behind completely as he’s been considering a potential MMA career in the past. He’s even been able to get training in with multiple UFC world champions, so he’s definitely been able to pick up a few things over the years.
