Logan Paul has been putting in the hours working on developing his combat sports skillset and a recent grappling training session with a pair of UFC world champions, Israel Adesanya and Alexander Volkanovski, must have gone a long way. Despite sessions like this, so far the only experience that Paul has in combat sports has come in boxing competition. He’s had amateur, exhibition, and professional bouts over the course of the last five years but he’s still chasing his first win in the ring.
Paul made his boxing debut against fellow YouTube star KSI back in 2018, with the bout being declared a majority draw after 6 rounds. They then had a rematch a little over a year later under professional rules, but Paul lost a split decision in a fight that put an end to their long-running rivalry. His only other appearance in combat sports has been in an exhibition match against the legendary Floyd Mayweather in 2021 and although he made it to the end of the 8-round fight, it was not scored and did not have an official outcome. Since then he’s been focusing more on scripted competition, putting on performances for WWE instead.
He’s been able to show his athletic talent during those performances, but of course that’s completely different to doing anything to a resisting opponent. Regardless, Logan Paul has been open about a desire to pursue MMA and training sessions with Israel Adesanya and Alexander Volkanovski will no doubt be very helpful. He has plenty of experience wrestling in his youth and he’s already been challenging elite MMA fighters like Nate Diaz. There’s no news yet on if or when Paul will be making his MMA debut, but it’ll be interesting to see how he’s able to cope with it.
