The IBJJF No Gi American National Championship 2023 finished on July 9th, 2023 and several of the best grapplers from around the country competed at the event. There was plenty of action in every division, but the men’s heavyweight division in particular was stacked with some truly impressive talent. In the end it was ADCC veteran Elder Cruz who won gold there, shortly before he took home his second gold medal in the absolute division. Another competitor from ADCC 2022 made an appearance in the lightweight division, as Josh Cisneros stood at the top of that podium. There were some other impressive names competing in the lighter weight classes too, as Roiter Lima and Huthayfah Penney won light-featherweight and featherweight respectively.

The women’s divisions also featured several top competitors and another ADCC veteran, as Elisabeth Clay stormed to victory in both the middleweight and the absolute divisions. The absolute division in particular was incredible tough too, as Maria Ruffatto won gold at heavyweight and ended up stood on the third position of that podium. She shared that spot with another gold medalist too, with Elizabeth Mitrovic winning the super-heavyweight division before finishing in third in the absolute. All in all, the athletes competing at the IBJJF No Gi American National Championship 2023 produced plenty of memorable moments on the mats.
