Gordon Ryan is not content with making history on the mats at ADCC 2022, he also wants to make history with his sponsorship deals for the event as well. The no gi grappling superstar has just managed to ink a deal with a second and as yet-unnamed sponsor for the event worth a stunning $100,000. This actually in addition to the deal he already had in place with Bitcoin Cash for another $100,000 and despite the fact that he’s apparently giving up some sponsorship space to friend’s businesses too.
It would have seemed like an insane proposition just a year or so ago, if Gordon Ryan had told the world he intends to make at least around a quarter of a million dollars at ADCC 2022 with sponsorship and fight purses. Hell, despite the fact that he’d already secured a six-figure sum a lot of fans were doubtful when Ryan decided to ask the public to help find him a sponsor willing to pay another $100,000 for him to represent them at the event:
It shouldn’t have come as too much of a surprise really considering that Ryan recently revealed to the public that he lost at least $180,000 as a result of his recent absence from competition. Given that the 2022 ADCC world championships promises to be one of the most exciting and action-packed grappling events in the history of the sport, businesses are obviously going to be willing to pay more than ever before to have their brand showcased at the event.
For anyone who did doubt that Gordon Ryan would be able to secure the sponsorship deal he was looking for, they found out the error of their ways very quickly indeed. It was literally just a matter of hours before Ryan posted an update to his official Instagram account where he declared that the sponsorship deal was in the bag:
