Gordon Ryan and Craig Jones have had issues with one another for quite some time now and it appears as though it might be about to escalate into an actual fight. The two men originally had a somewhat friendly rivalry with three matches across 2017 and 2018, where Ryan won all three. That rivalry was put to bed when Jones made the decision to join the Danaher Death Squad and started training alongside Ryan under John Danaher. They were teammates then for several years and there was no more news on any rivalry or ill feelings between them during that period of time.

The pair even moved to Puerto Rico together with the rest of their teammates to continue training together, but this proved to be the team’s downfall. The Danaher Death Squad split up and Nicky Rodriguez has said it was due to ‘some issues within the team’. That’s when they went their separate ways and while Ryan chose to continue training under Danaher, Jones and Rodriguez split off with Nicky Ryan and several other teammates to form B-Team Jiu-Jitsu. There’s been a certain level of animosity between Ryan and several of his former teammates since then, with Jones being among his most vocal opponents.

Now those issues between Gordon Ryan and Craig Jones have escalated to the point of a physical fight, and it all stems from the million-dollar challenge that Nicky Rodriguez issued to Ryan recently. There was no news from Ryan for over a week after the challenge was made, but eventually he did accept it under several conditions. While accepting it, he also called out Jones at the same time and proposed a match with him under the same conditions as well. Jones responded to that portion of the callout almost immediately with the following comment:

“I literally insult you and your PDF file wife everyday. It should be on sight not when you’re healthy… I’ll wager the video I possess to your 1 million. If I win it goes to charity.”

Ryan responded pretty quickly this time:

“Just to be clear are you suggesting we fight on sight?”

Gordon Ryan wasn’t content to wait long for a response either, and he sent Craig Jones a message about this potential fight shortly after:

“Please confirm you want to fight when I see you. We can do every single time we are in the building together. Let me know ;).”

Jones did respond to the challenge, and even shared the entire exchange to social media too:

“If your gut micro biome is in check we’re on Eskimo brother.”

Craig Jones shared the private messages between him and Gordon Ryan where they agree to fight in a recent post to his official Instagram account:
