Nicky Ryan NewsNicky Ryan is the younger brother of Gordon Ryan, and followed in his footsteps by establishing himself as one of the top no gi Jiu-Jitsu competitors in the world very early on in his life. Ryan started training in the sport when he was just 8 years old, but only sporadically and he eventually left it entirely. It was only when his brother’s career began to grow that he decided to return to the sport in 2015, taking it more seriously that time around. His first major achievement came in 2016 when he won a bronze medal at ADCC Trials at the age of just 15, an achievement he repeated the following year. Those two medals were what encouraged organizers to extend an invite for Ryan to make his debut at ADCC 2017 when he was just 16 years old. He has continued to compete at the ADCC world championship and share the mats with the best grapplers on the planet since then, ultimately earning his BJJ black belt in 2020.
