Read moreJohn Danaher is one of the most highly-respected coaches in the history of BJJ, and has been credited with the success of a number of top competitors. He began training in the sport at the age of 28 in New York, in the legendary blue basement of the Renzo Gracie Academy. Danaher then began working as a coach at the facility and was eventually promoted to BJJ black belt in 2002. From then on, he began working with top MMA fighters like Georges St-Pierre and developing fantastic grapplers like Gordon Ryan. Since moving on from Renzo Gracie Academy, Danaher has branched out on his own and formed a competition team called New Wave Jiu-Jitsu.
