Fight 2 Win is back on November 6th with F2W 156 and the promotion has managed to book an incredible main event matchup to top the card. The two men battling it out for the promotion’s Featherweight black belt no gi title are both already F2W champions in different weight-classes, and under different rulesets. Edwin “Junny” Ocasio has been the no gi Bantamweight champion for quite some time now, having defended his title twice in the last two months and finishing both matches by submission.
Back in September, he defeated Marcelo Cohen with a beautiful heelhook that earned him submission of the night honors at F2W 153. He then came up against Jose Carlos Lima at the very next Fight 2 Win event in October and while Lima did well to defend Junny’s elite leg attacks, a late scramble saw him take Lima’s back and transition to an armbar in a matter of seconds. His opponent in he main event at F2W 156 will be the son of the legendary Cobrinha and the current Lightweight gi champion, Kennedy Maciel.
Maciel won his title back at F2W 151 where he defeated the much more experienced Osvaldo Moizinho in a very close match that resulted in the judges being needed. Shortly after this, he also won the first Abu Dhabi Grand Slam Tour event in Miami at Welterweight, beating out some top-tier opposition on his way to the cash prize. The Co-Main event will then see Samuel Nagai take a huge step up in competition against Marcio Andre and shortly before that, his older brother Jackson will take on Hugo Marques as well.
