Fight 2 Win 154 brought a number of high-level athletes to Philadelphia and they produced several shocking results. First up of the top three matches on the card was Nathiely De Jesus and Maria Malyjasik. De Jesus pulled guard early and switched between a lasso and De La Riva control, managing to sweep her opponent as she pressured forward. Malyjasik retained top position very well and eventually forced her way through De Jesus’ Single-leg X-Guard, being swept at the last moment. As De Jesus came up on top, she tried to contend with Malyjasik’s strong Spider guard grips and the two switched positions several times. De Jesus then latched on to an ankle, with Malyjasik defending and switching quickly to offense by wrenching on a Toehold. As De Jesus turned to defend, Malyjasik transitioned to a Kneebar and secured the tap.

The second of the top-billed matches was just as exciting as Edwin “Junny” Ocasio pulled guard and immediately started working to open up the legs of Jose Carlos Lima. Lima escaped the danger and the pair were reset in the center, but Junny was quick to attack the legs a second time and again forced the action out of bounds. As Lima tried to stay low and pass, Junny inverted and attempted to secure a leg-entanglement again, this time catching an ankle and coming up on top. Junny broke open Lima’s guard and sat back for a heelhook, although it was quickly escaped. Junny continued to play open guard until there was only a few minutes left, when he initiated a lightning-quick scramble and took Lima’s back before transitioning to an armbar. Although Lima did defend well at first, it was only a matter of time before Junny forced him to tap.

The main event was surprisingly short compared to the previous two, as Manuel Ribamar pulled guard against Jon “Thor” Blank to start off. Blank took the opportunity to take hold of Ribamar’s leg, although the crafty veteran managed to come up on top. Ribamar then started to work his passing game but Blank managed to secure a slick entry to his opponent’s legs. It only seemed like seconds then before Blank got a bite on the heel and finished the inside heel hook with style.
