Evolve Ur Game put on their inaugural event headlined by an eight man tournament stacked with elite talent that delivered some fantastic results. Unfortunately, the lineup suffered a few last-minute changes but they managed to source some amazing grapplers on short notice, Gianni Grippo and Johnny Tama. The thrilling tournament action was punctuated by a superfight between the first black belt to come from the Art of Jiu-Jitsu kids program, Jessa Khan, and IBJJF gi and no gi World Champion Mayssa Bastos. Khan put on a great show in a close match against Bastos but ultimately the difference in experience proved too much to overcome as she lost on points.
In the tournament, one of ATOS’ newest black belts Andy Murasaki was making his first appearance since being awarded the final belt promotion and he made a huge statement in doing so. He defeated Kennedy Maciel in an incredibly close match in the opening round before submitting the legendary Gianni Grippo to book his place in the final. There he came up against Matheus Gabriel and showed the depth of his incredible passing game, being declared the winner by referee decision after neither man was able to put points on the board.
