Things have taken a very surprising turn in the world of professional grappling as Craig Jones and Gabi Garcia have both agreed to a match at the next Who’s Number One event. This recent revelation is almost the icing on the cake that is a series of bizarre events surrounding FloGrappling’s promotional arm. The most recent Who’s Number One event featured a series of stellar matchups between some of the best grapplers around with both Gabi Garcia and Craig Jones competing, although only the latter came out on top in the end with Garcia dropping a decision to Nathiely De Jesus.

Despite the high-level grappling action available, the biggest news came about backstage where Gordon Ryan and Andre Galvao were caught on camera exchanging words about their recent social media beef. That wasn’t all that was exchanged however as Ryan was seen slapping the ATOS founder twice during the altercation, before sitting down to give his post-match interview. In the same video, Garcia can be seen intervening in the situation to try and calm down the pair, although it wasn’t long before she made it known that she’d love to have a match with Ryan herself.

And that’s what brings us to where we are now. When FloGrappling put up a post on their official Instagram account asking fans to tag any grapplers that they wanted to see compete against Craig Jones at the next Who’s Number One event on March 26th, the Australian phenom was quick to respond by tagging Gabi Garcia herself. As always with Jones, it’s incredibly difficult to tell if he’s being serious or not. With even more posts uploaded by both him and Garcia referencing the hypothetical match since then, we’re now at a place where both parties are happy to give the fans what they want and we’re just left waiting to see if FloGrappling are willing to put on the show.

The full Who’s Number One event will be streamed live on FloGrappling on March 26th, click here to subscribe and watch.
