The Danaher Death Squad is back in action at Who’s Number One on March 26th as both Gordon Ryan and Nicky Rodriguez have had official matchups announced for the event. The first fight revealed by FloGrappling was the one for Ryan, with the announcement made shortly after the last edition of Who’s number One had finished. He will take on Vagner Rocha who, despite being clearly undersized against the best no gi grappler of his generation, will no doubt use his brutally effective Jiu-Jitsu to put on a fantastic show.

Shortly after this, the second official announcement was made for the event as Nicky Rodriguez joins Gordon Ryan, and he will be taking on Yuri Simoes. This represents a big opportunity for Rodriguez as Simoes was regarded as the top no gi grappler in the over 99kg category for quite a while with a pair of ADCC golds in 2015 and 2017, before he lost to the eventual 2019 winne, Kaynan Duarte. Interestingly however, Simoes came up short in his last match which was actually against Vagner Rocha back at Fight 2 Win 164.

Alongside these two official matches, there’s also one other contest involving a Danaher Death Squad competitor that’s been floated around although not yet been confirmed by the promotion. Both Craig Jones and the legendary Gabi Garcia have verbally agreed to compete against one another at the next WNO event, although it remains to be seen whether FloGrappling are even willing to put on their first intergender matchup.

The full Who’s Number One event will be streamed live on FloGrappling on March 26th, click here to subscribe and watch.
