The June 2025 update has been applied to the Jits Magazine BJJ Rankings and the full standings can be found here. The no gi divisions were relatively quiet this month, with just two of them experiencing any changes at all. This is because the majority of high-level grapplers were busy training and competing in the gi instead thanks to two major events. The IBJJF Brazilian National Championship 2025 took place right at the beginning of the month and it naturally featured most of the best gi grapplers from the homeland of BJJ. Then to finish off the month on the highest note possible, the IBJJF World Championship 2025 crowned a whole new class of champions.

The Jits Magazine BJJ Rankings also have their own official sponsor, our proud partners REVGEAR! Worlds hpcaused one big change at the top of the division first, as Joao Mendes stormed to gold and took the 2nd spot thanks to who he beat along the way. Light-Heavyweight – Under 208lbs

The Abu Dhabi Grand Slam event in Abu Dhabi had a little effect at the bottom of the division, as Renato Cardoso enters the rankings at 14th and Vladimir Blium climbs slightly up to number twelve. Leonardo Ferreira climbs up to 6th after solid showings at both Brasileiro and Worlds, but slotting in a few spaces behind him is Hygor Brito and Elder Cruz; who now sit at 8th and 9th respectively.

Pedro Lucas is the new number five and the new number six is Leon Mendonca but the final change actually came halfway through the month at the Abu Dhabi Grand Slam, when Alexander Sak secured his position at number ten.

Jansen Gomes moves in to the top spot in the rankings and Erich Munis also advances one place to make it to 3rd, while Adam Wardzinski is now the number four. Mia Funegra made history by winning Worlds and she’s now ranked 3rd in this weight class, while the silver medalist Andressa Tolentino is now 4th. Rose El Sharouni has managed to climb a few spaces up to her highest rank at 6th, while Brasileiro meant that Brenda Larissa is now number eight. Mariana Rolszt also moves up a single space into the 10th spot.

Featherweight – Under 129lbs

This was another division where both Brasileiro and Worlds had a big impact, and Larissa Campos is now 3rd after winning a world title. Caroline Brunacio is a newcomer who has gone straight up to 4th, and Cassia Moura is right behind her at number five. There was also a small change thanks to the Abu Dhabi Grand Slam as well, as Maria Delahaye had some solid wins and is now ranked at 9th.

Lightweight – Under 141lbs

The top of the lightweight division went unchanged, but Luciane Santos Silva registered a big win at Worlds that let her break into the rankings at 6th. Right ahead of her is Vitoria Vieira at number five, who fell just short of the podium at the event. The only other change came just outside the top ten, as Maria Claudia got her own big win at Worlds and moved into 11th.

Middleweight – Under 163lbs

Thamara Ferreira retained her world title and moved up to 3rd, with Ingridd Alves right behind her at 4th with a silver medal. The other champion at this weight class, Thalyta Silva, is now 5th and her opponent in the final, Elisabeth Clay, is now 6th. Then at number seven, French black belt Aurelie Le Vern has made her arrival. There were plenty more changes in the bottom half of the rankings too, with Elizabeth Mitrovic now occupying the 11th spot. Rebeca Lima breaks into the rankings at 14th, and Finnish competitor Salla Simola is the new number fifteen.

Heavyweight – Over 163lbs

Tayane Porfirio went 1-3 against Gabrieli Pessanha in major finals this month but that win coupled with a few other big wins was enough go move her up to 2nd behind Pessanha. Larissa Dias was the other world champion and she now sits at 3rd, while the rest of the changes happened at the bottom of the division. Isabely Lemos moves in to 11th from her performances at both Brasileiro and Worlds, while Brasileiro caused Aurelie Le Vern to enter her second weight class here at 12th. Giovanna Carneiro is the new number thirteen after her run at Brasileiro, and Giovanna Jara is 15th thanks to hers.

Pound for Pound

Janaina Lebre moves up one space into 4th but the main story here is the 5 women who broke into the pound for pound rankings. Tayane Porfirio is now 7th, while Mia Funegra becomes the youngest woman here at number ten. The 11th and 12th spots are now taken by Larissa Campos and Thamara Ferreira respectively, while Larissa Dias completes the changes at number fifteen.
