The AIGA Champions League Final 2025 took place on June 28th and 29th and the results saw eight incredible teams battling it out for a share of the $1,000,000 prize pool. Some of the best grapplers in the world were in the lineup and it looked like pretty much every team match was going to be a tough one initially. That’s not quite how it played out though, and the opening round matches were all pretty one-sided. Both Al Leone and Kasai dominated their first opponents, as they won every match against Acai Republic and Checkmat respectively. The other two matchups were won 5-2, with Williams Elite Team beating Team Eurotrash and Universal Fighters beating Battle Force to make it to the semi-finals.
Day 2 picked up from there and things got much tougher from that point onward. Williams Elite Team beat Al Leone by a razor-thin margin, with Izaak Michell getting the submission in the final match to give them a 4-3 victory. Kasai also won their semi-final match against Universal Fighters 4-3, but they had sealed the victory by the 6th match. Before the final could take place, it was time for the third-place match and Al Leone managed to earn redemption with a string of submission wins over Universal Fighters. That saw them finish 5-2 and they were awarded bronze medals for two tough days of non-stop matches.
The final looked like it was going to be one of the closest battles of the night, but it ended up being far from it. Jason Nolf was disqualified in the first match for slamming Diego ‘Pato’ Oliveira in the very first match and then Fabricio Andrey scored one of the biggest upsets of the whole event over Dante Leon in the second. Kasai went on a run from there and won the first 5 matches in a row, guaranteeing themselves the win in the quickest way possible. Izaak Michell and Felipe Machado won the last two matches for Williams Elite Team despite being the underdogs on paper, but it was far too late and Kasai won 5-2.
