Mansher Khera has just improved his undefeated professional MMA record to 8-0 with yet another submission win over Hector Saenz in the main event of Fury FC 90 on May 12th, 2024. Khera was one of the top prospects in the professional grappling world for several years and he drew a ton of attention during his journey through the colored belt ranks training under Marcelo Garcia. He won multiple IBJJF No Gi World Championship gold medals before eventually being promoted to black belt by Garcia in 2015 and he went on to have a successful career at first, winning ADCC Trials the following year and going 1-1 against the best in the world at ADCC 2017.
Khera competed in grappling sporadically over the next two years, although he did make appearances at both Quintet and Polaris events. After more than 2 years away from combat sports competition, Khera re-appeared at Gamebred Fighting Championship 3 and made his bare knuckle MMA debut. Although it seemed like a crazy challenge to take after such a long absence, he put on a flawless performance and finished his opponent with ground and pound in the very first round. He stepped into the cage again just a few weeks later to make his regular MMA debut and although it took him a round longer, he finished the fight by submission that time.
Khera had another 3 submission wins on the regional MMA circuit before signing to Fury FC in 2023, and his promotional debut was actually the first fight he didn’t manage to finish. He still won by decision regardless and he racked up another submission win to continue his incredible form into 2024 and move to 7-0, including his bare knuckle fight. This fight at Fury FC 90 marked the first time that Mansher Khera was going to headline an event for the promotion, and he definitely rose to the occasion.
Khera came out with an early takedown and it didn’t take long for him to go for his first submission, as he locked up a very tight armbar against Saenz after less than a minute of action. Saenz managed to escape after being in serious danger for a few seconds and he even worked his way back to standing immediately after. This time Khera was able to show off his striking as he dropped Saenz with a stiff right hand and followed him to the ground. Khera passed his guard with ease and landed shots that forced him to turtle, where he took his back and sunk in a rear-naked choke to finish the fight at 3:15 of the very first round.
