Andrew Wiltse recently took a trip to Gatlinburg, Tennessee to compete at the Nuway Combat Tournament and put on a completely flawless display as he showed the difference between a good grappler and an elite one. Wiltse is one of the top competitors to come out of Pedigo Submission Fighting, the team that recently burst onto the top level of the competitive scene with huge success and have been the subject of a documentary by FloGrappling.
Wiltse took part in the Nuway Combat Tournament hosted by BJJ Fanatics and came up against several opponents, most notably one incredibly ambitious blue belt, but flew through every single one of them both in the gi and no gi brackets. This isn’t much of a surprise of course as Wiltse has won the IBJJF no gi World Championships as a brown belt and managed to win the IBJJF no gi Pan-Ams championships on his very first attempt at black belt. He traveled back to try and repeat his success this year but unfortunately fell just short and claimed a silver medal instead, although the Pedigo Submission Fighting team did come away with the team trophy thanks in part to his efforts.
The highlight reel of the performance Andrew Wiltse put on at Nuway Combat Tournament was edited by his younger brother Bird Wiltse and uploaded to his official YouTube channel:
