Emperor Of The Mats 4 took place on October 5th, 2024 and the tournament attracted several high grapplers to Kuwait in order to compete. The event used ADCC weight classes but without any women’s divisions available, so it was down to the men to put on a show. That’s exactly what they did and once the dust settled, a handful of competitors stood out among them. Anton Dmitrakov won the absolute division at the event but he wasn’t able to go the whole day unbeaten, as he lost to Eldar Saiidov in the final of the over 99kg division. It was a solid performance overall from Dmitrakov though, as he finished with 4 wins all coming by submission.
Andre Porfirio managed to come away with a similar record, as he also went 4-1 across two brackets and his only loss came against Dmitrakov in the final of the absolute. Porfirio won gold in the under 99kg division, beating Catriel Rodrigues in the final in order to do so. Magomed Dzharbaev won the under 88kg division, while the remaining two weight classes were won by some of the best competitors in those brackets. Kenta Iwamoto took home the title at under 77kg, while Julian Espinosa won the smallest weight class in the event at under 66kg. All in all, it was a solid event that featured some really high-level matchups and it brought superb Jiu-Jitsu to Kuwait.
