Third Coast Grappling has made a big move as they switch over from exclusively airing their events on FloGrappling, to FITE TV instead. The Texas-based promotion made the announcement through their official Facebook account where they revealed that this move would apply in time for their very next event; Third Coast Grappling 6 on April 3rd, 2021. 3CG CEO Ryan McGuire also revealed that the deal with FITE TV was for a two year period and they had the aim of putting on four to six big events per year, with all of them being sold on a pay-per-view basis.

FloGrappling is the home of several major promotions, including every major IBJJF tournament, the ADCC World Championships, and every single Fight 2 Win event too. Because of their near-monopoly over major events and the fact that they’ve even begun to stage their own events in the form of Who’s Number One, FloGrappling are able to charge customers a monthly or yearly fee in order to have full access to any of those promotions all in one place, and provide unlimited replayability.

Now, instead of having access to 3CG as part of a package that grants access to all of the above as well, the preliminary portion of every event will be aired completely free of charge, followed by a paid main card. The PPV price will be $14.99 per event and it’ll be really interesting to see how 3CG fares going it alone after spending the vast majority of their existence as part of the FloGrappling offering. This could signal a huge change in how grappling promotions sell their events, or it could hammer home the value of being part of a large streaming service. Only time will tell.
