Enyo Grappling 5: UK vs Ireland is scheduled to take place on November 18th, 2023 and it will mark the first time that the promotion has veered away from individual matches and into teams instead. Enyo Grappling are still a promotion focused solely on the development of women in BJJ and every match at this event will feature female competitors, just like all of their previous events. This team grappling event will feature six of the best women in the sport from all across the UK taking on six of the best from Ireland, and it will no doubt deliver plenty of action for the fans.
The UK is being represented by grapplers training in all corners of the different nations included within it, including Polaris veteran Martina Zola. Not only does Zola have experience competing on some of the biggest stages in Europe but she’s also competed for this promotion specifically, back when she made it to the semi-final of the under 70kg grand prix at Enyo Grappling 4. She isn’t the only Enyo veteran representing the UK either, and there’s actually another former title-challenger in the team. Fiona Mortell fought for the promotion’s under 65kg in the main event of Enyo Grappling 3 and although she didn’t win, she put in some great work on the mats.
Julia Scardone is another promotional veteran in Team UK and there’s actually the possibility of an interesting rematch within the teams at Enyo Grappling 5, as she beat Ireland’s Marie Kennedy by decision at their third event. She’ll also be coming into this match fresh off facing UFC veteran Molly McCann at Polaris 26, and she might be riding a big wave if she gets the win there first. The UK team also features exciting Welsh grappler Emma Pursey, top Scottish talent Lorna Kinnoch, and experienced black belt Jolie Boyle.
The team representing Ireland is headed up by Rosa Walsh, who will no doubt be eager to make a big impact after recently receiving her black belt. Alongside the aforementioned Marie Kennedy, experienced competitors Laura Peretti and Amanda Pamela Nicole will be tough opponents for anybody in Team UK. The final two members of Team Ireland are a pair of impressive colored belts, top prospect Zara Di Tofano and Enyo veteran Heather Doyle. There’s bound to be several highlight reel moments throughout the battle between the two teams at Enyo Grappling 5: UK vs Ireland and fans will definitely be leaving happy.
