Subversiv 3 put on a fantastic show and the results speak for themselves, the night was packed with high-level grappling competition with over forty matches taking place in their team grappling tournament. Sixteen of the best 3-person teams available battled it out to determine who would be the best and after all was said and done, most of the tournament went how it was predicted to go. The four teams that made it to the semi-finals were the four favorites right from the start, Checkmat, Gracie Barra, Unity and Alliance Gold.
The competition featured a high number of Ankle Lock and Kneebar finishes, with several elite grapplers falling to prey to leglocks. Levi Jones-Leary and Kendall Reusing, representing Unity and Gracie Barra respectively, both impressed all the way through the tournament as their teams made it into the final and both athletes won every single match. Sadly for Jones-Leary, his victory in the final wasn’t quite enough as Unity lost 2-1 and were forced to settle for second place. Fellipe Andrew also had a solid display representing Alliance Gold that included beating Gabriel Almeida, despite his team not earning a place on the podium.
