Subversiv 10 took place on April 13th, 2024 and there was exciting results throughout the event, during many of the single matches and in the Combat Jiu-Jitsu team tournament. There was a stacked lineup of both no gi and CJJ superfights along with a fun military grand prix early on the card, all leading up to the 3 vs 3 tournament that capped off a great night. The main event superfight saw ADCC veteran Keith Krikorian taking on Alexandre Vieira in a 150lbs title-fight and both men came out guns blazing right from the start. Vieira tried to leap over his opponent’s guard and straight into a choke but Krikorian dealt with the threat and scrambled to the top before sitting back on a heel hook to get the win.
The team tournament was equally entertaining and the very first matchup saw Alex Enriquez storm to victory, as she submitted Ashley Yoder with a rear-naked choke. Alex Grandy took Team Phaze to 2-0 by submitting Driton Hayes with a rear-naked choke of his own, and they were through to the final as the final member of Team Patriot Empowerment was injured earlier in the night. Travis Thomas and Justin Jackson led Team New Hope into the final in their opening round matches, with submission and TKO finishes respectively. Kiaya Jackson and Alejandra Lara put on a really fun match too but it was ruled a draw in the end, so Team New Hope only won 2-0.
Stephen Martinez finally got the opportunity to represent Team Phaze in the first match of the final but he was submitted by Travis Thomas, who finished the night with a perfect record. Team New Hope were 1-0 up and one of the most interesting matches of the tournament was up next, Alex Enriquez vs Kiaya Jackson. Enriquez pulled one back for Team Phaze by locking up a tight guillotine choke and getting the submission win, putting it all on the line in the final match. Alex Grandy and Denzel Freeman gave it everything they had over both the regulation period and in EBI overtime, but it was Grandy who racked up the most ride-time to give Team Phaze the team championship.
