The lineup for the last edition of Flograppling’s Who’s Number One was stacked with some of the best grapplers on the planet, including a headliner that saw two ADCC 2019 Champions facing off against each other. It’s always going to be hard to top an event like that, but Flograppling have given it their best try for the next edition that’s been scheduled for December 11th, 2020. Roberto Jimenez will be returning to their mats after losing in his last visit when he came up against the Australian phenom, Craig Jones.
He’ll be taking on another competitor from that event, Dante Leon, who came out on top with a decision victory against his opponent, Kody Steele. This marks the latest in a series of tough tests for Roberto Jimenez that has included a stellar run through a Third Coast Grappling Kumite bracket earlier this year. The other match that has been announced as part of the official lineup for Who’s Number One sees a rare appearance on the professional grappling circuit for current undefeated UFC fighter, Rodolfo Vieira.
Vieira was scheduled to fight as recently as October for the UFC, but was forced to withdraw as the result of a rib injury sustained in training. It seems as though he’s back to full health now as the six-time IBJJF World Champion has been booked to compete against one of the best grapplers of the modern generation, Kaynan Duarte. Duarte was last seen at BJJ Bet, taking on the legendary Roberto “Cyborg” Abreu and being shocked by the depth of his game as he lost by Heelhook.
